
Today, Apple announced the new 4-inch iPod Touch. The new iPod Touch features and updated 4-inch retina display, with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the same used in the iPhone 5. Announced along with the new iPod Nano, the iPod Touch is only 6.1mm thin and weighs only 88 grams, the thinnest and lightest iPod Touch yet. Apple have also packed the dual-core A5 chip into the iPod Touch. Apple have also added a better battery life, allowing users to get up to 40-hours of use when listening to music. The rear-facing iSight camera, has also been upgraded to pack a 5-megapixel sensor. It now shoots 720p video, with a LED flash, backside illumination and more. The front-facing FaceTime camera, now shoots 720p video. Apple have also added a hook into the body of the device to support lanyards. It also supports their own lanyard, which they call the Loop.
For networking, Apple have introduce Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n, and support for AirPlay Mirroring(YES!). Apple have also brought Siri to the new iPod Touch, the voice assistant that was introduced with the iPhone 4s.

The iPod Touch will ship with iOS 6 and will also come bundled with the new EarPods, Apple’s latest earbuds. You can also get the new iPod Touch in a variety of “fun” colours, including pink, blue, yellow, silver, white, black and slate.
