Thinksound ms01 Monitor Earphones Review

SONY DSCEarphones have always been an awkward area for me, from choosing the right pair to how they produce the sound. When I received the Thinksound ms01 earphones in for review, I was quite shocked at just how they sounded, and not in a bad way.

I must thank Thinksound for sending these over for review.

The ms01’s are dubbed as ‘Studio Monitor’ earphones, meaning they have been professionally tuned to produce a wide range of frequencies, offering detailed and accurate musical reproduction. Ontop of this bold claim the earphones offer passive noise isolation and are encased in a wooden housing.

SONY DSCInside the box you receive the earphones, four different ear tips, a pair of ear hooks, cable clip and a carrying pouch. The packaging is made of recycled material, with the inside being made from die-cut layers of card which I find quite a nice way of packaging a product, and very environmentally friendly.

First use of the earphones did it for me, I was sold there-after. I normally use a custom tuned Equaliser setting when listening to earphones, with the ms01’s I have left iTunes in Flat, and my phone’s EQ is on the same setting. The earphones produce deep bass notes and you hear all the ranges from the mid-high tones, and I would go as far as saying if you listen to classical music, the earphones are in a completely different league.

Now I’m no Audiophile, but these earphones really have swayed my decision when it comes to earphones, and to an extent headphones. The earphones have a gold-plated 3.5mm jack, which helps towards the clarity produced, and with 8mm drivers, these earphones offer a frequency response of 18Hz to 20kHz.

The Thinksound ms01 Monitor Earphones retail for £114.99, and you can find more information on their website.
